Important information
From 1 July 2009, the Construction Safety Induction 'blue card' has been replaced by the National Construction Safety Induction 'white card'.
The purpose of the change is to align Australian states and territories to one nationally recognised construction safety induction card.
The white card is legally required on all construction sites throughout Queensland and all other Australian states and territories by people who are undertaking construction work.
As a long-term transitional phasing arrangement, all current Queensland blue cards will continue to be recognised in Queensland. However, new entrants to the industry or existing entrants who do not have a safety induction card will be required to undertake training to obtain a new national white card.
If an existing blue card holder misplaces their card they will also be required to replace it with a new national white card.
The new white card details will be displayed on a white background with the state's logo. The card will include the card number (incorporating the RTO number), the person's name and date of birth, and the date of issue.
Master Builders is now running the new national white card course. If you would like to book a course, contact Master Builders Training on (07) 3225 6530 or email training@masterbuilders.asn.au.
