Are you an experienced trade contractor and want to become a qualified Builder?
Master Builders can help eligible applicants complete the technical qualification necessary to apply for a Builder licence through a recognition of prior learning (RPL) skills assessment.
Eligibility criteria
For carpenters and bricklayers: At least two years’ post trade experience on-site supervising all trades with a licensed builder, in domestic construction and commercial construction to one storey.
For all other trades: at least four years’ post trade experience on-site supervising all trades with a licensed builder, in domestic construction and commercial construction to one storey.
Duration
Approximately six months from date of enrolment
Outcome
Upon successful completion of the RPL skills assessment a Certificate and Record of Results in the relevant qualification will be issued (e.g. Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building), Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) or Advanced Diploma in Building and Construction (Management)). This may be used to meet the BSA technical requirements for a Builder licence.
