Electrical Testing & Tagging
This training program aims to identify the requirements of the Electrical Safety Act 2002 and Electrical Safety Regulations 2002 and associated codes relating to in-service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment (other than fixed wired equipment). It includes class of work, frequency of inspection and testing, type of electrical equipment required to be tested and resultant actions from testing results.
Participants will be able to inspect and test their own portable electrical appliances and/or their employer’s equipment.

Outcome
Successful participants will be issued with a Statement of Completion .
Topics covered
Inspecting and testing portable electrical appliances (e.g. power saws, electrical drills, etc.), single phase 240v equipment, cords, plugs and sockets, residual current devices, three phase 415v equipment, which equipment is safe, which equipment is not safe and test instruments.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a sufficient level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills.
