Completed Residential Building Inspectors Course

In order for applicants to meet the licensing requirements set out by the Building Services Authority (BSA), Master Builders has developed this training program for people wishing to perform completed building inspections, including inspections and preparation of reports in accordance with AS 4349.1-2007 Inspection of Buildings – Pre-purchase inspections – Residential Buildings.

Outcome

Successful participants will be issued with a Statement of Completion.

Topics covered

Customer service skills, effective communications, report writing, pre-inspection considerations, site inspection procedures and techniques, contracts and building legislation in Queensland, Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards, workplace health & safety and BSA dispute procedure, insurance & legal implications.

Face-to-face delivery

Face-to-face programs are delivered over two consecutive days and enable candidates to learn in an interactive environment.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a sufficient level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills.

To apply for a Completed Residential Building Inspection licence with the BSA, participants are required to:

  • Hold a current BSA license in Builder Low Rise, Builder Medium Rise or Builder Open; or
  • Be an accredited a building surveyor, assistant building surveyor or building surveyor technician with the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors or equivalent; and
  • Have five years experience in the scope of work for a BSA license in Builder Low Rise, Builder Medium Rise or Builder Open.
