Asbestos Removal Licence (Class B)

Any persons performing work to remove 10m2 or more of bonded asbestos containing material must have the appropriate authority to perform the work as outlined in the Workplace Health & Safety Regulation 2011.

This course provides an understanding of the requirements for the safe removal of bonded asbestos materials. It is delivered by trainers who have experience in workplace health and safety, asbestos removal and/or the building and construction industry.

Outcome

Successful participants will be issued with a Statement of Completion.

Topics covered

Legislation and obligations, controlling exposure to asbestos, minimising the risk of exposure from asbestos fibres in asbestos removal area, erecting and dismantling containment barriers, work method statements, safe work practices and decontamination.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates should be able to demonstrate a sufficient level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills and must be 18 years or over and have photographic identification or equivalent (e.g. drivers licence, student card, passport).
