Construction First Aid

The Construction First Aid course is delivered at Master Builders office and provides workers with the skills and knowledge to administer first aid treatment and perform resuscitation at the workplace in an emergency situation. This program is nationally accredited and a Statement of
Attainment is issued on successful completion. A current first aid manual is also included.

Outcome
Successful participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment issued by Life International Training and a current Senior First Aid Manual.
Life International Training (Registered Training Organisation No. 30326) is registered to deliver HLTCPR201A – Perform CPR, HLTFA201A – Provide basic emergency life support and HLTFA301B – Apply first aid.
Topics covered
Introduction to first aid, responding to emergencies, legal issues, duty of care, awareness of cross infection, management and treatment of burns, management of head injuries, identification of shock, treatment of major trauma, management of bleeding, management and treatment of fractures, management of the unconscious patient, breathing and cardiac emergencies, workplace illnesses, poisons, bites and stings, management of wounds, cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), incident reporting (WH&S requirements) and completing documentation and recording.

Eligibility criteria
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a sufficient level of language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills.
