Search for Queensland’s best builders and tradies begins

Entries are now open for Master Builders 2012 Housing & Construction Awards, with two exciting new categories now available for nomination.
Master Builders Executive Director, Graham Cuthbert, said the Housing & Construction Awards recognise builders and trade contractors at the forefront of building innovation and quality craftsmanship.
“There is no doubt in my mind that a Master Builders award is the most prestigious award available in the industry today,” Mr Cuthbert said.
“Our awards program promotes and showcases excellence in the housing and construction industry and we’re calling on builders and trade contractors to nominate their projects now.
“Entries can be accepted from residential and commercial Master Builders members across Queensland, with a variety of categories that cater for entrants ranging from apprentices to trade contractors and small family businesses to the biggest names in the building and construction industry.
“This year we’re excited to announce two new categories – Best Bathroom and Best Kitchen. In the past, these awards were awarded by our judges and were always part of a new home or large renovation project.
“We’ve recognised that times have changed, with many homeowners choosing to improve rather than build a new home, which means that many of our members now exclusively perform renovation work.
“These two popular categories are now open for nomination to all builders and trade contractors who specialise in bathrooms and kitchens, allowing them to gain the recognition they deserve.”
The overall success of the program can be attributed to the expansive range of award categories, which means there is an award to suit almost every project.
Independent judges grade all projects against criteria like quality of workmanship, degree of construction difficulty, external appeal, siting and aspect, and amenities and aesthetics. Regional winners go on to be judged at a state level.
Early bird entries close on 23 March 2012.
