Carpenters Day 16 April - can a Queenslander take out the title again in 2010?
National Carpenters Day recognises the contribution hardworking carpenters make. In 2009, Master Builders' member, Tom Casey from Mackay, took out the Carpenter of the Year crown. In 2010, the day will once again be celebrated with BBQs on 16 April 2010 to be held in various locations around the country.

IR powers to federal government
The Queensland Government has announced it will refer most of its industrial relations powers to the federal government, under a national scheme to align all the Australian states with the Fair Work Act 2009 (the Act).
