FLOOR FINISHER (TIMBER/CARPET/RESILIENT)
The Certificate III in Flooring Technology (LMF31208) is the qualification recognised in the Building and Construction Industry, as the minimum qualification for Floor Finishing and Covering and obtaining a licence. This job is hands on and often physically demanding.
What does it mean to be a floor finisher (hard sector)?
A floor finisher may perform the following tasks:
- Prepare, sand, and apply coatings to, timber floors.
- Install and repair cork flooring including prepare, sand, and apply coating systems.
- Install and repair mosaic and block parquetry flooring including prepare, sand, and apply coating systems.
- Install pre-finished manufactured and engineered timber flooring.
- Install and repair non-structural strip flooring including prepare, sand, and apply coating systems.
- Prepare, apply and finish epoxy and seamless floor coverings.
- Incidental work of another class.

Qualification
The Certificate III in Flooring Technology requires 24 units of competency - 10 units are compulsory and 14 units may be selected from the list of elective units.
